The **2026 Seoul Barbecue Festival** runs Saturday , October 24 and Sunday , October 25 at Nanji Camping Ground in Mapo-gu, hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. Under the slogan **"GRILL Y OUR SEOUL "** and the tagline "Sizzle — the moment Seoul gets delicious," the two-day festival invites locals and international visitors to experience Korean barbecue the way Koreans do: grilling it yourself , sharing it at the table and eating it outdoors. Korean barbecue has deep roots. The festival traces it back to maekjeok, a grilled meat dish from the Goguryeo kingdom, and today K-BBQ is one of Korea's best-known food cultures around the world. The festival's advice for first-timers is simple: flip the meat until it turns golden, cut it into bite-sized pieces with scissors, then wrap it in lettuce or perilla leaves with ssamjang, garlic, rice and kimchi.
